The islands of the South Seas are spread across an area of approximately 50 million square kilometres, with the following being particularly popular:

French Polynesia with Tahiti: Nearly 120 islands are spread across five archipelagos, with the most famous being Tahiti and Bora Bora. The region boasts fine sandy beaches, blue lagoons, lush green jungles, and active volcanoes. Divers and snorkelers will find paradise here.

Cook Islands with Rarotonga: The Cook Islands is an independent island nation in "association" with New Zealand. The federation comprises 15 islands, some accessible only by plane. The capital, Avarua, is located on the popular holiday island of Rarotonga. Visitors here encounter crystal-clear waters amidst tropical vegetation in a volcanic landscape. The island of Aitutaki is particularly popular among honeymooners.

Fiji Islands: The Republic of Fiji is by far the most popular destination in the South Seas. The archipelago consists of 332 islands, of which around a third are inhabited. In addition to classic white beaches, there are also black beaches, volcanoes, and coral reefs. Hikers can climb Mount Tomanivi, the highest peak at 1,324 meters.
